Private Beta
The talking app is invite-only so we can keep quality high and costs sane. You do not need an xAI account. You need a code and a link from us.
Request an Invite
This button opens your email app and writes to Aurora Companions. Say who you are and whether you are on a phone or a computer.
If the button does nothing, write that address yourself with the subject “Aurora beta invite.”
After You Have a Code
Open the Link We Send
Use Chrome on Android or Safari on iPhone. The link is HTTPS. That is required for the microphone.
Paste Your Access Code
In the app: More (⋯) → Settings → Access code. Type it exactly, including the AURORA- prefix, then Save. Do not paste an API key.
Add It to the Home Screen
Android Chrome: menu → Add to Home screen. iPhone Safari: Share → Add to Home Screen. After that it opens like an app.
Allow the Microphone When You Want to Talk
Tap the circle mic. If the browser blocks it, look at the address-bar lock / permissions. iPhone is pickier than Android.
Daily Cap
Most invites have a daily limit on replies and spoken audio so one tester cannot run the bill. If you hit it, wait until tomorrow or email us.
If You Get Stuck
- “Unknown access code” — check spelling, all caps, include AURORA-.
- Mic blocked — allow microphone for the site.
- Page looks old — refresh; on a phone, close the home-screen icon and reopen after an update.
- Never put an xai- key in Settings. The code is enough.
